At Lake Erie Labrador Retriever Rescue, Inc. (LELRR), our dedicated volunteers are the foundation of our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome Labrador Retrievers in need. Every hour you contribute directly transforms the lives of these loyal companions, offering them another chance at happiness.
Whether you're eager to engage with the community at events, lend your creativity to plan fundraising efforts, or provide invaluable behind-the-scenes support directly with the Labs, your unique talents can make a significant difference.

There are many ways you can help out – even if it is only for a few hours a month – it all makes a difference!
Represent LELRR at Events
From monthly Meet & Greets at local pet stores to community events throughout the year, there are plenty of ways to get involved at our events and help spread the word about our mission. These events are a vital part of our outreach – giving us the chance to connect with new supporters, raise funds, share the stories of our rescued Labs, and help them find loving forever homes.
Event & Fundraiser Coordination
From our annual LabTie & Tails Gala to a variety of fun and impactful fundraisers throughout the year, our events are made possible by a team of creative and passionate volunteers. We're always looking for fresh ideas and helping hands to plan, organize, and bring these events to life so we can continue raising the funds that make rescuing more Labs possible.
Kennel Visits & Lab Care
Help our Labs feel loved and ready for their next chapter by visiting those in temporary kennel care. Our Labs spend some time in a kennel upon intake so that they can decompress and receive vetting before being placed into a foster home. During this time, volunteers provide much-needed companionship, gentle grooming, and fun enrichment through walks and social time, giving each pup a chance to learn, relax, and shine before starting their journey to find their forever home.
Lab Transport
Be a lifeline for our rescued Labs by helping them get where they need to go—whether it’s from intake into our care, to essential vet appointments, or to LELRR events where they can meet their future families. Transport volunteers ensure our Labs travel safely and comfortably as they take their first steps toward a better life.
General Support
